§ 15.01.1150. Conveying concrete.

  • When the air temperature is eighty degrees or greater, a maximum time of forty-five minutes will be allowed from the time the cement mix is added to the concrete until the concrete mix is discharged from the carrier. When the temperature is less than eighty degrees Fahrenheit, a maximum time of ninety minutes will be allowed from the time the water is added to the concrete mix until the concrete mix is discharged from the carrier. The concrete shall be conveyed from the mixer to the forms as rapidly as practicable by methods that will prevent segregation of the aggregates or loss of mortar. Concrete shall not be dropped more than five feet vertically unless suitable equipment is used to prevent segregation.
