§ 6.04.190. Vicious animals.

  • It is unlawful for any person to keep, own or possess a fierce, dangerous or vicious dog within the city limits. Whenever a prosecution of an offense is commenced under this section, the dog so involved may not be redeemed under Section 6.04.130 awaiting final decision of the court as to the disposition to be made of such dog. Upon the trial of any offense under this section, the court may, upon conviction, order the supervisor of the department of animal control to put the dog to death, or may order such other disposition of the dog as will protect the inhabitants of the city from the same.
